I hate heights…..but this photo is so enchanting. It makes me want to get up there and touch the clouds. What are you up to this weekend?

I wish I could have been this excited about the water in my basement. I’ve been busy cleaning up and washing everything that got soaked by my squirting furnace. I hope my carpet dries soon and doesn’t stink of mildew when this is all over. It’s been a long week!

I don’t know about you, but all this rain is making me feel really gloomy. I decided to dedicate today’s post on umbrellas….more specifically, umbrella art.
umbrella installation by Ingo MaurerI love these! If I owned a restaurant, we would have outdoor dining with lighting like this.
I thought this one was hilarious. It almost looks like all those umbrellas blew away and got caught in the tree. Well, it beats waiting for the buds to bloom.
Collection of umbrellas between 2 buildingsThis is the best idea I have seen for patio shade. It’s so unique. I mostly love the shadows that are left on the ground. Love it!!!

Will it stay??? Well, I wasn’t sure if spring was really here. It does appear that the grass in my backyard is already a few inches taller than it was a week ago. My son and I had a really great time looking around the yard for new growth. He was actually looking for the Easter bunny….but that’s a whole different topic. Look at the new buds that are already sprouting up out of the ground! It’s really glum today with on and off rain sprinkles. I will try to think happy thoughts anyways and remember that April rain really does bring May flowers.Comments (0)

This is my recent project Hancock, named after the location of this beautiful building. The bride wanted this backdrop to her wedding site to be drawn on her wedding invitation.
Here is the coordinating reply card. Ivy will be a part of the ceremony adorning the fences surrounding the ceremony site.
Since the wedding is on location in different state than the bride and her family resides, she needed a direction and accommodation card to remind the guests where they can stay.
The pattern below will be used as an envelope liner. The bride wanted a fun and playful pattern that reflected her bouquet and color scheme of green and yellow.

I love dogwood trees. They are gorgeous and a perfect backdrop to any party. So simple and easy to place in a vase or pot and you have a stunning centerpiece for your table. Naturally, I had to design a wedding invitations around these petite little blooming flowers….take a look….
